In the wake of all the broken connections and shattered lives of the Coronavirus Crisis, thinking and feeling people the World over are desperate for some respite. But fresh scares and fear-mongering abound, seemingly determined to stampede us into a future of frugality and deprivation, eking out a meagre existence in the ‘new normal’. To have less, do less, and be less amid a high-tech matrix of control and surveillance is now the promised land. To ‘own nothing and be happy’ as we await the end of humanity, engulfed in the virtual reality of a transhumanist utopia. But is this the future you ordered? And if not, whose future is it?

  1. Nadim Mahi-Bahi says:

My personal experience of covid made me realize that something very strange and scary has happened in the last few years. I strongly feel part of the population has gone insane. Unfortunately that part is the one I used to identify with.

Covid measures have made the rich richer, the poor poorer, have given corporations more powers like censorship and have given governments permission to rule un-democratically . But ironically, the group who wanted the lockdowns to continue is the group that claims to be anti-capitalists, for the workers. AKA the left, And when the workers rose up, this so called left stamped them down.

What’s even more strange is that after two years of brainwashing, the same voices that said ¨ vaccination saves lives¨ are now pushing WW3 against russia.

Maybe a sociologist has a clever explanation for all of this but my guts tells me there’s more to this then what we can easily explain. As you said, it’s not the future we wanted, so who’s future is it?
