We are programmed to maximise pleasure and minimise pain, but there is a power at work within us that we ignore at our peril. From the subatomic to the cosmic – darkness, destructiveness, negativity, evil – call it what you will – is everywhere and eternal. It is real and it exists for a reason. It has a purpose.
